As the days shorten and the year turns inward, the breath is one of the simplest ways back to your centre. This session is an invitation to slow down, make space, and find a steadier rhythm for the season ahead.
Opening the body
We begin with three gentle Yin postures that soften the diaphragm, lungs and upper back, creating room for a fuller, easier breath.
Kapalabhati – the cleansing breath
Then we move into Kapalabhati, the “shining skull” breath. Beyond the clearing and energising effects you may have heard of, we’ll look at its deeper purpose: how it works with the base of the body to build a steady foundation, and how the pumping action of the diaphragm supports the body’s natural cleansing.
Alternate Nostril Breathing – finding balance
Next comes Nadi Shodhana, alternate nostril breathing. We’ll explore what this practice reveals about the two sides of the mind, why that balance matters, and the quiet steadiness that grows when it becomes part of your daily life.
Rest
We close with a final relaxation, letting the body absorb the practice before you return to your day.
No experience needed. Just a quiet space, a mat or blanket.
