AYURVEDIC FOOD

There's a direct connection between what you eat and how you feel. But finding a practice that works, and gives you confidence that you're doing the right thing, can feel impossibly elusive, and the frustration of searching, trying different approaches, and still feeling depleted is exhausting in itself. This has been my journey with food…

What Ayurveda is

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system for understanding how the body works, built around three principles: your constitution (dosha) — the pattern you're naturally built on; your digestion (agni) — your capacity to process and absorb what you take in, not just food but experience; and the season, which shifts what your body needs week to week.

It doesn't prescribe a single "correct" diet. It's a framework for reading your own signals — energy, digestion, mood, sleep — and choosing food, spices and rhythms that respond to what you actually need, rather than what a generic plan assumes.

How it helps

For the women I work with, this usually means: steadier energy through the day, easier digestion, and a relationship with food that isn't ruled by anxiety or restriction. It's less about eliminating foods and more about understanding timing, preparation and combination — why the same ingredient can feel different depending on how and when you eat it.

It also travels well beyond the plate. Once you understand your own constitution, it shapes how you pace your work, your rest, and your energy more broadly — which is where it connects directly to the coaching and embodied work I do.

I trained as an Ayurvedic food practitioner after years of struggling with digestion and energy that conventional approaches hadn't resolved. I now bring that framework into cooking, teaching, and one-to-one consultations.

“Experiencing Tamsin's meals is like coming home to a warm hug after being away for years. You can taste the love. On a 9-day retreat with Tamsin as the chef, our group was well-held with delicious and healing meals each day - flavourful, beautiful to look at, and nourishing to the body. We looked forward to every meal, and the food added to the sense of care and connection between members of the group."
