POTTERY
I trained in craft-making at Brighton University, specializing in ceramics before ending up in luxury interiors management. After many years away from clay, I returned to making and built a studio here in rural France.
I work in earthenware pottery, using terracotta and slipware decoration with a soft, earthy color palette. My work is inspired by rural France, traditional French Jaspe ware, and English slipware techniques - loops, dots, and trailing lines that are the visual language of this heritage style.
I make tableware: cups, decorative bowls, and pitchers. Each piece is wheel-thrown, then decorated using slip - pouring, trailing, sgraffito, and brush marks. It's a technique I fell into by chance and love for its duality between structure and spontaneity, where every mark remains visible.
